Jeff just finished one of his 5 day weekends and we decided to go to the zoo while he was off and the weather was still good. So Tuesday we packed up the kids and we were off! The weather was pretty good. It was a little windy, but we all had jackets so we were fine. It wasn't as crowded as it is in the summer we almost had the place to ourselves. The animals were much more active, the penguins were swiming around, the cougars were awake, even the snakes were moving around. One of the large rattle snakes was watching Reed and everywhere Reed would move the snake's head would follow. We got an upclose encounter with the large male orangatange (sp?) He came right up to the glass and the kids got a close look at him, and vise versa :o) The got to ride the new carousel and of course the train. They also played on the playground (I think that is a first for them). Marian was busy trying to feed all the animal through their cages or windows. It was fun because it was feeding time, so we got to see the animals all scramble for their food. The kids were quite worn out by the time we were done
