An August Day at the Beach!

Talk about your driftwood! People down there don't need to bring any wood to burn to keep warm, they just light the local wood on fire and let it burn out.  Gets rid of the wood, and keeps everyone warm.  But this one was HUGE!

 Marian found her crabs...

Dani helped me find lots of rocks...
I loved the setting with this one

 The sand up close
Roxy got to be a salty sea dog! Though at the end of the day she lost her ball in the waves and was very sad and anxious because she couldn't find it again. Jeff even waded out pretty far trying to get it, but the waves swallowed it up.
Some neat shots of the water, sand and rocks

 Jeff and Roxy

 A cute Doodle bug

 Roxy and her ball

Building sandcastles with forts to protect it from the waves
 trying to catch water?

Roxy would have had a fun buddy to play with if she wasn't so obsessed with her ball

Dani wanted to be a mermaid!
I tried to draw fins on the sand there...

The kids got cold after playing in the cold water and the wind started to get a bit cooler...

So we buried them in the warm sand
I was snapping these pics of Dani, when I looked just behind her at those "logs" I saw on the sand bar out in the water, then I saw the "logs" move and I realized they were....

 Harbor Seals!!!

A few plopped back into the water and swam over our way and watched us for a bit, it was pretty cool!

Do you see how dirty she is!
I love the trees and all the color out here, even in August!!!
They had their sandcastle contest the day before!
Reed learning what to do if we were at the beach when a Tsunami hit.... and just so you know....
