After Tillamook, it was on to Newport!
Here are just some of the scenes that we saw on the wayI love these beach ones....
First thing to do in Newport was get some grub! We were hungry! So we stopped at Georgies for some real clam chowder and some real fish and chips! They were excellent!!!! Then we got an Irish Creme Brule for Dessert! Heavenly!!!
Next it was on to the Newport Aquarium!
We saw lots of starfish and Rock fish
more Rock fish, very colorful!
I love how the Jellyfish turned out!
Here Jeff and I are posing by one of the big aquariums
More Rock fish...
A Moray eel!
A cool close up of one of the Jelly fish, in fact later down in Coos Bay we found a washed up Jelly on the shore. At first I thought it was someone's trash, it looked like the lid to a soda cup, but I was smart and didn't touch it with my hand, I moved it with my foot (flip flop) first and could then easily tell it was a jelly!
Jeff likes to point out that these Jellies have palm trees for brains :o)
These are called Japanese Spider crabs. We thought it was pretty neat because they are in the kids book of extreme animals because they can grow up to 13 feet in length! (and we had just read that book to the kids a day or so before we had left)
So here is the picture of how big they can get! I know I would run away as fast as I could if I met up with one this size!
The seals and sea lions!
The ones on the rocks are your Sea Lions...
and the ones in the water are your Harbor Seals
cute huh!
The Sea Otter, there were more, but they were out where we couldn't see them.
The Giant Octopus
The cool tunnel aquarium! Look at how big this fish is! It is sitting on the arch right above Jeff's head!
more colorful rock fish!
The best picture I could get of the sharks, they were all moving too fast, but it was a really neat tank too! All the sharks swimming right over your head!
So after the aquarium, we decided to continue down to Coos Bay, so off we went again!
