The Beach!!!! Lincoln City!!!!

Well it has been a roster up here for spring time! 80 Degrees is quite warm, the sky was blue without a cloud in sight (and had been for several days) so we decided to take a trip to the coast to cool off.  Little did we know that the coast was going to be just as beautiful! (everyone has told us that the coast will be at least 10-15 degrees cooler and probably cloudy and most likely windy.  Well it proved them wrong.  It was 85 at the coast with a warm breeze blowing off the water (every once in a while we got a cold wind that blew across, but not often).  It was so warm that the kids wanted to swim in the water! Well I had prepared for everything but that! We had jackets, hats and changes of clothes (in case someone fell in or got too wet) I even had a blanket and towels in case the dog was too wet or the kids were too cold, but too warm? I didn't even think of that.  Needless to say everyone (including the dog) had a great time! Marian even found some kind of cephlepod in the little inlet they were swimming in.

The drive out was lovely! See the no cloudy sky! I was even in shorts and flip flops! I can't even think of the last time I have wanted to spend all day in flip flops (even in Utah!)

 A hazel nut tree grove...
 Farmland in Yamhill county!

And we arrive at the beach!!! We took some little back roads in Lincoln City and found a wonderful sandy beach for the kids and pooch to play on!

Have I yet mentioned that I love the fact that dogs are welcome on the beaches in Oregon!

This is the kids first time to actually play on a sandy beach! Yay!!!

Roxy was one tired pup after spending the day chasing the ball across the sand!

 Cool kids :o)

 Our salty hot sea dog!

I love this one (call it blackmail) he really does like the dog :o)

Our little run away Marian (she just liked to wander along the shore)

Dani and Reed got their shirts and pants wet (Dani by walking  backwards in the water and so fell down)
Here is Marian's cephalpod that she found it was a Sand crab!

After the beach we went to a park for dinner!

 Dani found this beautiful flower!

The end to a beautiful day!

What an awesome day!! It looks like a super fun trip. How long does it take to drive to the beach for you? I love the spot of beach that you found to play on too!

It's about an hour and a half to get there from our house.
