A day at the Barn!

What a glorious day!!!! (I check the weather when we got home and it was 52 degrees today!!!) I could not believe how nice it was for the middle of January!!! Reed even took his coat off while they were playing outside today because he was getting too hot! (however as soon as the sun went down it got cold fast)We headed up to Wallsburg today to cut our mutton up that had been killed last week. (so excited to eat it!!) It was sooo nice that as soon as I got off work I hurried home to head up the canyon with kids and dog in tow! We let the kids run around with Jeff's cousins (who are the same age as our kids) who live up there and own the sheep and horses. Our kids had a BLAST!!! In fact they cried halfway home because we couldn't stay up there and live! (Now they know how we feel) Marian just fell in love with all the animals and being able to find all kinds of interesting things up there (such as wool from the sheep). Dani loved all the rocks she could find and kept trying to stuff her pockets full! and I loved the fact that Reed had a friend his age who didn't know more than he did about video games!!! (I really think it's time they spend the summer up there!) ;o)

Even Roxy had a good time (except for when she got in trouble for chasing the chicken!)
I just loved this picture!!!
Kenneth's kids were so nice to share their snacks with them while Jeff and I helped wrap the mutton to be put in the freezer.
I thought it was so funny when Reed asked Clayton if he knew how to play "Golden Axe"! Clayton just looked at him like he was speaking French. Reed had to explain that it was a video game and then "taught" him how to play it. Clayton later looked at me rather sheepishly and said "we're playing a video game". Yeah, Reed really needs to get out more! They were sooo good to take our kids for a walk around the property! The kids loved it! and Reed learned how to go through a gate!
They even helped them feed some of the sheep and horses grain so they could pet them and see them better. Then they played "horsey" in the barn with a rope to catch the kids who were the horses at the time. All in all this will go down as a day I don't think they will forget very soon!
