Danielle!

Tuesday September 22nd of 2009 Danielle Lillyan Shepherd was born, 3:34 pm and weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and was 18.5 inches long. We got to the hospital at around 6:30 am and they got me started on the potossin about an hour later. The doctor broke my water and within minutes I was having contractions. Jeff was there with me and he slept through most of it :o) I had been nervouse about being induced, but man thats the way I would go if I could. By the time the contractions were to the point that I felt like I needed the epidural, the nurse had him there and I was good to go! I was shocked at how fast I dialated. Jeff woke up and I think I was at a 5, so he asked if he could grab some lunch, so I said sure. a half hour later they checked me again and I was at a 7, and hoping Jeff would make it back in time. He walked in a few minutes later, and about an hour after that I was pushing Danielle into this world. It only took 15 minutes or less and she was here. I really feel like I cheated somehow because next to Marian, Danielle was a breeze!

Reed was so very excited to see his long awaited sister, it was so cute to watch him just fawn all over her. If he could have he would have held her all night. He was very sad that she wasn't going to go home with him that night. Marian on the other hand didn't quite seem to understand what was going on. When we asked her if we should take the baby home she would just say "no". Then she kept telling us that it was baby Quinn (Josh's new baby). The next night we got that straighted out after Josh & Nicci brought baby Quinn to meet his new cousin and Marian could see them there together.

We are very happy to be home now and can't wait to fall back into the old diaper changing routin again :o) Happy Birthday Danielle and Werlcome to the family, we have waited long for you to get here :o) ( by the way, she does have brown hair for all those who doubted me) :o)
