Happy 24th of July to everyone out there! (or Happy Pioneer Day) Several months ago Reed came to us and asked us if we could go camping. When he asked there was still snow on the ground so we told him that in the summer we would take him camping. He would continue to ask several times a month. We told him that we would take him in July, so with the end of this month approching we decided to head on up to the wild outdoors, of Grandpa Shepherd's house. :o) We got Jeff's tent and some sleeping bags and loaded them into the new car. Grandma Shepherd was so excited she even bought a new fire pit so we could roast marshmellows and hot dogs over it. :o) Reed was so excited after I told him that we were going camping that night (we had to wait till Jeff got home from work) he was constantly asking if daddy was home yet and if we could go. By the time Jeff got home Reed was in the car and I didn't think I was going to be
able to get him back out again until we got up to Grandpa's house. He loved every minute of it and couldn't wait to get to sleep in the tent. All he wanted to do was roast hot dogs and marshmellows, not eat them mind you, just roast them. :o) Now you might be asking yourselves what a 31 week pregnant woman like me was doing camping. Have no fear, Grandma Shepherd came to the rescue again and had set up a thick foam pad with pillows one of the spare rooms where it was nice a cool for Marian and I. We let the boys have the tent and we took some creature comferts :o) The next day was the 24th and Wallsburg always has a parade and a rodeo so up we got and down did trot, as fast as we could caper ;o) to meet Great Grandma & Grandpa Gardner to watch the parade. I wanted to stay for the rodeo, but it got way to hot so back up to Grandpa's to see if we could keep cool through the afternoon. Then it was time to pack up and head back home.

how fun! :) You look way to good to be pregnant and due in 8 weeks or so.. so not fair!
That's fun! :) Good for you guys! :)
Looks like you guys had a good time. I especially like the picture with the Blow-Up Deer in the background. Very realistic. :)
The deer isn't blow up, it's a target for the archery that Jeff's family is all into. If it was blow up it would pop out there in the sticks :o)
